Born in Puerto Rico and now based in New York City, Gabriel Santiago Ortiz is an interior designer, multidisciplinary artist, and spatial storyteller whose practice explores the relationship between design, culture, nature, and human experience. Influenced by the Caribbean landscape and inspired by biophilic principles, his work spans residential interiors, home staging, furniture concepts, artistic installations, and visual art. Rather than viewing interior design solely as a functional discipline, Gabriel approaches each project as a narrative—one that combines materiality, craftsmanship, emotion, and purpose to create spaces with lasting meaning.

Throughout his career, Gabriel has collaborated with interior designers, furniture retailers, artists, and cultural organizations across Puerto Rico and New York. His professional experience includes residential and commercial interior design, kitchen design, luxury home staging, visual merchandising, and creative direction for spatial environments. Beyond client work, he has expanded his practice through public art initiatives, artist residencies, editorial writing, television appearances, design talks, and community collaborations. These experiences have allowed him to communicate design beyond the built environment, making it more accessible while fostering conversations around creativity, sustainability, and the emotional impact of space.
